Fun in the Sun 6th birthday party!

May 30, 2016
Today is a big day and there is no better way to start out a big day then with some hide and seek with Makayla and Granpy.  There aren't a lot of places to hide in our house right now, but some new places have become available.  The only problem is you have to be flexible enough to fit into them.  Seriously how do I get into that small spot?
I guess since they found me I will unfold and come out.
Aunt Helen sent a gift that was the perfect to get to open early so that it could be utilized for my fun in the sun birthday party today!
Sweet Aunt Helen sent me on too!  I was excited to get to open a gift even though it wasn't my birthday!
She sent us beach hats.  No wait she sent us new rash guard swimsuits with matching hats!  We are so excited to get to wear our new swimsuits for the party!
Since my first birthday we have tried to do a memorial day birthday party out at the lake that has had good weather.  For my first birthday we headed out to Whiskeytown Group picnic area and had my party.  Unfortunately the day was cold and it threatened to rain.  We tired again for my 3rd birthday party, but it rained so hard we had to move it to the park by our house which has a huge covered area.  After that mom gave up the idea and stopped having my birthday on memorial day.  Well this year I wanted to have my party out at the lake.  The lake is one of my favorite places to go here in Redding.  With lots of pray mom booked the group picnic area and we gave out invitations for a fun in the sun party.  We would just like to say thank you Lord for the glorious, warm, sun filled day to celebrate the glorious, wonderful, joyful little girl God has given us.
We headed out a little early to get the area all set up for my party and the food going for lunch.  Not only were be blessed with a beautiful day, the lake was also full and everything was green!
We are all set up and ready for people to come and party!
Happy Birthday McKenzie Mae we love you and are so thankful for you!  You are truely a treasure in our lives.
As my friends arrived I would greet them and give them a bucket of fun to play with and then take it home with them.
I was itching to get into the water since the moment we got here.  Mom told us we had to wait until there was someone who was able to keep an eye on us, since, all the adults were busy setting up.  It felt so refreshing to get in.
I grabbed a water squirter and am ready to use it.
We just love Rachel.  We think she is the coolest big kid we know.  She took me out in the water and kept me safe while we play and played and played!  Thanks Rachel for watching out for me!
As soon as my friends showed up they would quickly join us in the lake.  The water was warmer than you would have expected for this time of the year, plus it is supposed to be 93 degrees out at the lake today.  We couldn't have asked for better weather!
I better watch out for Daniel!
I ready for battle!
We had a fantastic time playing while we waited for the lunch to finish cooking!
Jayden is all sun screened up and ready to play in the water.
For Tilley there is nothing like a good snuggle and a bottle of milk out at the lake!
I am so excited to finally be able to have my party at the lake and be able to get into the water.
We got out of the water for a little bit to warm up and dry off since lunch is ready.  Even though it was a warm day I was still freezing after playing in the water for a little bit.  I am difinitely a girl who loves heat over cold.
We got this Nemo blow up toy at the store and I wanted to try it out after lunch.
That is more like how you would swim on Nemo!
Lunch is ready!  Daddy worked hard cooking up all the tri tip and hot dogs.  He did a great job on them!  They were done to perfection.  We are ready to gather the people pray for the food and dig in.
Joseph is ready for some lunch!
I had a great turn out for my party.  There were probably close to 70 kids and adults who came out to have some fun in the sun.  Mom was so thankful to have Grammy and Granpy and all their help in getting this feast ready!  It ended up being a yummy memorial day BBQ with: tri tip, hot dogs, lots of fruits, veggies, beans, pasta salad, and of course chips.
We found a table to enjoy our lunch at with Michael and Daniel.
Gus entertained us by making silly faces while he sat across from us.
It was fun to get to eat with Noah and Naveah!
Brooke and Ella!
and Paisley and Araya.  We filled that table right up!
Tilly and her mom had a great time hanging out while people were eating.
Allie, Trey, and Isaiah found a blanket to sit on and hang out while they ate lunch.
While the parents opted for the shade and chairs.  Oh how we get wiser as we get older!
David, Katelyn, and Joseph had lunch right by the water!  Nothing like a table by the water or in this case a blanket by the water.
Mason finished his lunch and is ready to go back in the water.  They would pull us kids out of the water to do something (like eat lunch) then as soon as we were done we were running back to get into the water.
Mason's mom and little sister Kyleigh had a great time hanging out in the shade!
Trey is kicking back and relaxing while floating out on the lake!
When the line died down, Dad got some food and joined us for lunch!
Rachel and her mom had to head home, but not before we got a picture of us!
Thanks for coming Rachel and Andrea!
I was excited to have Granpy join me in the water and help me ride Nemo!
I was going to try out the Dory ring and see if it would help me float.
Allie found a little turtle which was a big hit!
After lunch and some more playing in the lake, it was time for birthday dessert.  This year for dessert we are having buckets of sand.  No that is just what it looked like from the top.  Mom made strawberry cheesecake trifle that looked like sand!
Noah and I had a great time playing in the water together.
Had to get a picture of me in front of my 6th birthday dessert before we called everyone up to sing happy birthday!
Today is Trey's actual birthday.  He is turning 7, so, we wanted to get him in the birthday dessert fun!
We got all the kids together for a kid photo.  Mom wanted a kid photo to put in the sun in the fun photo frame that she made me and had all the kids sign who came to the party.  She thought it would be a good keep sake to have for my room when we move.
The candles (the #6 and the orange flip flop candles) are lit and we are ready to sing.
Happy Birthday to you!
Blowing them out!
I did it!  I got them out!

Since it was Trey's birthday today we wanted to sing to him.  He got seven candles and his own bucket of birthday dessert.  Happy 7th Birthday Trey!  Thanks for spending part of your birthday with me!
Before we served up the dessert mom wanted to get some family pictures!

One with us and Grammy and Granpy!
Then just one with Grammy and Granpy!  All right lets dig into the dessert!
Mom started shoveling out of the yellow bucket and Grammy started shoveling out of the orange bucket, but I really wanted mine out of the pink bucket, so, I waited until they got to that bucket!  All the buckets had the same dessert in it, but it was way more fun out of a pink bucket.  I am so excited to get to try my strawberry cheesecake triffle.
I loved the strawberry cheesecake trifle!!!!  It was so yummy!
I think Araya is enjoying hers too!
We wanted Granpy to join us in the water again!  We love to play with Granpy!
Mom asked me, "if I wanted to open present?"  I said, "I wanted to keep playing".  You know it is a good birthday party when you would rather play than open presents.  She finally convinced me to come up and open presents and then we could go back to swimming!
I got so many fun gifts!  What a lucky girl I am!
These legos from Noah are going to be so much fun to put together!
Last month I went to a skate party and since the skate party I have been asking for roller skates for my birthday.  The day after the party Mom and Sara (Allie's mom) were driving back from bible study when she told Sara that I wanted a pair of skates now.  By the time they got back to the school Sara had them ordered for me for my birthday!  What mom was most impressed with is that Makayla was in the back seat while all this was happening and knew that Allie and her family were getting me skates and she was able to keep it a secret for about two months!  Makayla has come so far in keeping surprises since Christmas time when she would tell me that day what they bought for me at the store.
I was so excited when I saw them!!!!
Thanks Allie for the skates!  I can't wait to try them out together!  Allison has had a pair of skates for awhile now and every time we go over to her house we try hers out!
Gus and his family were headed out, so, we got a picture with him before they left.
My last gift to open was Collin's!  It is going to be so much fun to play with the marble set and kinetic sand!
Great Uncle Jeff came out to celebrate my birthday with me at the lake!  I was glad that he was able to join us in the celebrating fun!
Granpy and I are swimming to go and say good bye to Great Uncle Jeff!
Michael kicking away in the water!
I made it to Great Uncle Jeff!  Thanks for coming!!!!!!!
Brooke was enjoying the water!
Uh oh, mom better watch out or Daniel is going to get her!
As the afternoon warmed up, mom even got warm enough to get into the water and play around with us.  Plus all that was left to do at the party was to play in the water, so, she was able to get in!
She had fun swimming around with me and Collin!
It was fun to get to hang out and swim with mom!
Noah and I had our floating rings and are going to do some floating!
Up close!
This is the life floating around in the water on a warm day!
A family picture of us in the water!
The last birthday buddy picture!  All the birthdays are done for the year now.  It sure has been a busy week!
We have had a great time celebrating each others birthdays!
This elephant float was great fun.
Makayla borrowed an air mattress to lay around on and I pulled her around as she lay there.
Paisley had a great time in the sand!
Slowly, but surely my friends headed out.  Bye Brooke thanks for coming!
Shane and Ally are headed out too.  Thanks for coming.  It was such a fun birthday party!  It ended up being quite a birthday party success!
