Happy President's day! Daddy had the day off and was headed out to the Whiskeytown Lake with a friend. Mom knows how much we love the lake and it was going to be a beautiful day, so, she decided to take us out to the lake to play!
We got new swimsuits from Grandma and Grandpa for valentine's day and mom thought she would grab the hats for us to wear at the beach. Well, we wanted to wear the swim suits too. Mom figured that they were equivalent in warmth to the clothes that we had on, so, she let us. First, she told us it was winter and we could not go swimming in the lake, then we got dressed. We thought we would be silly and block the picture for mom with our legs!
Of course, I want to do what ever my sister does!
A happy Makayla ready to go play with some buckets at the beach!
We had fun playing around while we got everything ready to go!
We are very excited about getting to go to the lake. We miss it so much in the winter!
What cute little girls!
One last sweet picture of Makayla before we head out.
We were planning on going to Oak Bottom beach and maybe meet up with Daddy for lunch, but it was closed for construction. We headed over to Brandy Creek beach and had to take a little walk to get down to the beach area. It was worth it for the beautiful day we had out at the beach.
The first thing we did when we got there was spread out our towels and had a picnic lunch!
I sure enjoyed eating my lunch on my Minnie Mouse towel!
When I finished with my lunch, I wanted to go right to playing in the sand!
I thought it would be fun to make some sand castles!
Look some sand ended up on me.
The beach at the lake with a bucket and toys and I am one happy camper!
There was a torpedo in with the buckets that you throw in the water and try to find it, but since we weren't allowed in the water we had to make up our own game. We had fun throwing it on the sand and then running after it. Our favorite game was digging a hole and hiding it and then digging it up!
After we played with the torpedo, we went back to making sand castles. Mom got us some water from the lake to help the sand form into a structure. We had fun stomping them down after we made them. It really was quite an enjoyable way to spend President's Day!
