Exercising with Dad

November 28, 2016
When Dad comes home from work he gets in a work out while mom is making us dinner.  Sometimes we like to join in and work out with him.  Mom thought she would get some pictures of us working out.
McKenzie is getting into the work out.  I like to roam around a little bit more.
It is good to stretch out your muscles before you really start into your work out.
I think one of us has the stretch figured out and one of us is trying our own dance move.
Our warm up is almost done and we are ready to really start working out.  The greatest was the day that mom thought we should try brussel sprouts with dinner and they weren't very good, so, Mom and I (McKenzie) decided to eat ours together, but Makayla didn't want to eat hers.  Mom and Dad told her that if she ate them she could have some Chocolate milk like Daddy drinks after his work out to help him recover.  She decided that the brussel sprouts weren't worth eating even for the chocolate milk.  However the next day when she woke up she told Dad that she was going to do a whole work out with him so she could get some chocolate milk after.  That girls is always trying to come up with a solution.

The start of Christmas dress season

November 27, 2016
We have been going to quite a few different churches while we are trying to find the one that we want to go to.  Today we tried another one and decided to get very dressed up for it.
We have quite a few Christmas dress (especially McKenzie), so, we decided to start wearing them.
I headed down stairs for a snack.
Here is my first Christmas dress of the season.
This one is from Sydney.  I loved the ribbon skirt on it!
My dress was originally Sienna's and then McKenzie's and now it is mine.

Home projects!

November 25, 2016
Mom decided that she was going to take Thanksgiving weekend and start working on our bedrooms.  I think it is a great way to spend your black Friday.  We went and picked out some paint the other day that would match my bedspread.  This is what my room looks like before we started (I know you are relieved this isn't the after pictures!)  We even picked up some white ceiling paint to get rid of this crazy pink ceiling.
Mom thought she would get some before picture with me in them.
Then I wanted to pose with the ladder.
A little bit closer up.
I really just wanted to climb on the ladder and sit there and used the excuse of taking pictures to get to sit on the ladder.  So smart I am to figure out a way to get to get on the ladder.
While mom was painting the ceiling, which, was something I couldn't help with because it wasn't at my leave, I went out to help dad with his project.
Mom and Dad got a new log bed to put in their room, since, they moved their bed into the spare bedroom.
It needed sanded down on the ends and then a finish put on it before it could be put together.
When I found out all the fun with helping McKenzie was doing I went a put some clothes on so I could join in and help.

November 26, 2016
Mom finished up the ceiling yesterday and toady we are painting my walls.  She has it all ready and taped and I get to come in and help paint.  I was very excited about getting to help paint my room.
I chose tropical waterfall for my room color.  It ended up being a very pretty blue.  Nice and bright and refreshing.  Now I feel like I am in a tropical waterfall (okay not really, but why not since that is the name!).
I had a great time painting.  While I was painting I would make designs on the walls while I did it.  I made some hearts, wrote my name, and a bunch of other things.
I can't wait to see what my room will look like when it is all done!

Happy Thanksgiving

November 24, 2016
Happy Thanksgiving!  This year we had a nice and quiet Thanksgiving at our house with just the four of us.  We just hung out and relaxed as a family.  We started the day off with breakfast and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, then we played for a while, we helped mom make pumpkin pie and stuffing, and then we made our thankful trees.
For the last couple of years we have collected leaves through out November and each day we would write something we were thankful for.  Well this year we didn't get to it through out the month, but Mom thought why not do it on Thanksgiving and do a bunch of things we are thankful for all at once.
We headed outside to collect of bunch a pretty fallen leaves.
I got some leaves, but I think I still need some more.
I had a great time collecting leaves!
A little happy Thanksgiving dance.
We had great time thinking of things that we were thankful for.  I was able to write mine by myself.  After we wrote something we were thankful for on the leaf then we would tape it to the tree.  The thankful trees were so much fun to make.
Look at my pretty leaf that I found.  I would tell mom what I was thankful for and then she would write it on the leaf.  I really wanted to do some on my own, so, by the end I wrote on about three of them.
Here is my thankful tree!
Here is my thankful tree.  We had so many things that we were thankful for that we had to go outside and get more leaves.  Then my tree had so many leaves that some of them had to fall off the tree onto the ground.  It was great to see how thankful we are for all that we have big or small.
That evening we had a Thanksgiving feast with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, salad, olives, corn pudding, and rolls.  It sure was a lot of food for the four of us, well five of us we gave Scout some.  I am sure we will be eating leftovers for days to come!
Mom got a couple of Thanksgiving meal pictures before we prayed and were able to dig in.
Alright mom enough with the pictures and lets start eating!
It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without Mom's favorite Thanksgiving food, olives.  This turkey hat I am wearing I made in school and was quite excited to get to wear it.
Once mom put the olives on our plate they went straight to our fingers for us to eat them off.
I sure enjoyed my pumpkin pie that I helped mom make.  I scarfed it right down.

A surprise party for Dad!

We really wanted to throw Daddy a surprise birthday party.  We love to celebrate birthdays and have parties for them.  We were so excited about it that mom said "we would make a surprise birthday party for Dad work."  It was a pretty small surprise party with only the five of us and that counts Scout.
After school we went to store and got some Captain America plates and napkins to make his surprise party Captain American themed.  We decorated the dinning room and then about and hour before Dad got home we started hiding to surprise him.  Scout even got in on the hiding with me for a little bit.
I think that this is going to be the perfect place to hide to jump out and surprise dad.
Out in our living room we have our tent and tunnel set up.  I hid in the tent while I waited.
It was a good place to hide because you could hide and play at the same time!
Finally it was time for Dad to come home.  Makayla came to join me under the table.  We sure surprised him when he got home.  It probably helped that the surprise party was a little ways after his birthday.
After we decorated and before we hide we wrapped some presents for Dad to open!  I hope that he likes them!
Our party consisted of decorations, calzones for dinner, some presents and of course ice cream cake.
We made Daddy the ultimate chocolate peanut butter ice cream pie!  I am sure he is going to love it.
A picture with us and Daddy before we sang Happy Birthday to him.
We love you so much Daddy.  We think that you are the greatest.
Ice cream pie is the official Nettleton birthday dessert of  2016.  I wonder what the birthday dessert of 2017 will be?
We helped Dad blow out the candles and then dug into the ice cream pie.  It sure was yummy.  We had a great time celebrating Daddy tonight!  So glad he was able to get the Captain American birthday party that we have been talking about throwing him for the last couple of birthdays!
