Happy 4th Birthday McKenzie Mae!

May 31, 2014
Happy Birthday Day McKenzie!  Today is my 4th birthday and we headed to breakfast at the Black Bear Diner!  Here I am as a four year old.  Do I look older?
I found a great place to sit and rest!
Oh my!  Look at that!  I sat right by a bear.  I hope it is a nice bear!
We got a corner booth to sit in!  I order the same thing every time, so, no need to look at the menu!
Look at that sweet and beautiful 4 year old.  How she has grown and learned so much over the last year.  It sure has been fun to watch her grow this last year into a little girl! We have been so blessed by God to have her in our family!
I wanted my picture taken too, so, I gave mommy a smile she couldn't resist!
My sister was entertaining me while we waited for our order to be taken!
I sure love my daddy!  I had fun sitting by him!
A sweet hug from the birthday girl!
Grammy came over to keep me sitting in my chair.  I love to squirm out of it!
Is this how I am supposed to sit in it!
Granpy put a straw in my cup, but I guess he was not quick enough for me or I was worried he wouldn't do it right!
That is such a sad face!
I also got to sit with Grammy.  We have such a fun time together.  Here is a really sweet picture of the two of us!
We ordered the 7 grain pancakes, which are a favorite for us girls.  Look at that pancake, it is as big as my head and I plan on eating it all.
Here I am on my 1st birthday busy eating a whole pancake at the Black Bear.  Wow, look how much I have grown.
It is time to dig in.  I can hardly wait.  Don't worry I kept up with my one year old self and ate the whole pancake!
I also got a really big pancake to eat and I was so excited!  Granpy cut it up for me, so, I could shove it in my mouth.
I kept trying and trying to eat it all, but it was just too big for me.  I was only able to eat about half of it!
It was sure a yummy pancake!  I love the Black Bear Diner for breakfast.
On the way out, I wanted to get my picture taken in front of a different bear.
I guess I am too tall to stand in front of the bear and need to stand behind it now that I am a four year old.  We headed out to go and get some balloons for my party and get ready for my friends to come over and celebrate!

Storytime!

May 30, 2014
On a typical Friday, we usually go to storytime at the Library with Daddy while Mommy is at work.  This Friday, Daddy went into work also because he is working on a project that is due soon.  So, Grammy and Granpy watched us and took us to storytime.  We had fun with music today!
I had to peek around to be able to see!
I had fun playing around during storytime.
After the stories were done, I headed to the computer to see if I could play a game.  Now how does this work?
There is always a craft time after the stories.  Granpy got to help us do our crafts.
They also had play dough to play with.  Granpy helped me roll mine out like a snake.
We got into crafts and play dough time!
I like to play in the kids area when we are done.  Here I am riding an eggplant!
They have a puppet stand, so, I thought I would put on a show!
I am peeking out to see my audience.  Thanks Grammy and Granpy for taking us to storytime!  We had a fun time.
That night, I had Granpy read me a story before bed!
Grammy and I read bedtime stories before bed.  I was pretty excited that when I woke up in the morning I would be 4 years old!  Here is the last picture of me as a three year old!

Turtle Bay and Softball with Grammy and Granpy!

May 28, 2014
Grammy and Granpy came to visit us!  We had a busy day getting everything ready for my 4th birthday party, so, we headed out to Dry Creek Station for dinner!
A picture with me and Grammy and Granpy while we wait for our dinner!

May 29, 2014
We headed to Turtle Bay this morning!  I had to stop to see if my wing span is as big as the bat's!  Not quite yet, but I am getting closer!
At Turtle Bay the butterfly garden is open, so, we headed there to check out the butterflies!  I put my arms out, so, I could fly like a butterfly!  I had fun looking at the butterflies with Grammy!
There were some oranges out that the butterflies were eating off of.
Granpy and I stood still while we watched the butterflies have a little snack!
I was so excited to see all the butterflies flying around.  I love it when there are butterflies on my clothes, so, to actually see a bunch of real ones was pretty cool!
I wanted to touch one, but Mom stopped me.  I guess you aren't supposed to touch the butterflies or eat their oranges.
Here are the Monarch butterflies eating the orange.  Aren't they beautiful?
I had Granpy follow me all around the butterfly garden as we explored!
We tried to get a good picture of us with Grammy and Granpy, but I don't think this is going to be it!
We found a little turtle statue bench to sit on and watch the butterflies!
I had fun watching the waterfall in the pond!
A lady who works here asked McKenzie if she wanted a sticker and my face lit up too.  I wanted one!  It was fun to explore the butterfly garden with Grammy and Granpy.
The other thing we wanted to check out while we were at Turtle Bay was this years animal show!  Here we are waiting for the show to begin!
Grammy is going to keep me entertained for the 30 minute show!  Hopefully this goes well!
The show has started and we are mesmerized by the animals!
How cool is this!  I had a great time watching the animals preform.  They even had one of the foxes speak on command.  Now I know what the fox says!
After the show, we had a picnic lunch before we headed home for naps.  We are so glad that Grammy and Granpy's North Carolina pass still gets them into Turtle Bay!
That afternoon, it was the last day of softball!  They had the grasshopper out for pictures today!
I wanted my picture taken with the grasshopper too!
Since, Mommy and Daddy had lots of chances to play catch with me, we thought we would give Granpy as chance.  Here he is throwing me some grounders to catch!
I threw the ball back to him!  I hope he can catch it.
We even worked on me catching the ball today.  Okay, Granpy, I am ready to catch it!
While McKenzie was at the cones working on hitting the ball, I thought I should see how this all works!
A little bit of hitting practice before we play our game!  Look at that hit!
At the end, we headed back over to that fun grasshopper for more photo-ops.  Hannah got in this one with me!
McKenzie and Allie tried to join me on this one!
Us girls with our certificates of completion!  We sure had fun playing softball together!
