Happy 4th of July!

July 4, 2015
This morning we went to a Bar Mitzvah here in Redding.  We are in front of a church that Frank Llyod Wright was the architect for.
After our naps, we got dressed in our 4th of July clothes and got ready to go see the fireworks!
We headed to a field at Sequoia middle school to watch the fireworks.  We got there a little early to find a spot and to enjoy some traditional homemade ice cream!
Mom made s'mores ice cream this year.  It looks so yummy!
I had a great time eating my ice cream cone!
Allison and her family joined us for the ice cream eating fun!
I am not sure where more of the ice cream went, in my mouth or on my shirt!
Allie and I had a blast playing together while we waited for it to get dark!
We had some silly times!  It was so nice to catch up with friends!
How is this for festive!?!
We ran and ran and ran and had a great time.
Collin and his family joined us for the fun!
We had fun dancing and playing around while the sun set!
It was so nice to get to see Collin and get to play with him!  I sure miss my friends while we are way!
Here is the beautiful sunset that we saw tonight while we waited!

It is almost dark, which means, the show should start soon!  I had fun playing with dad!
The fireworks were sure pretty!
We had a wonderful 4th of July and were so thankful to get to enjoy it with friends!

Oregon State Logging Museum!

July 2, 2015
We all headed home to Redding today!  On the way home, we stopped by the Oregon State Logging Museum to check it out.  We found this bear chair that fit us both just perfectly!
We headed inside the museum and found another wooden bear to pose by!
There were a lot of exhibits to explore.  They take you from the beginning of logging in Oregon in the late 1800's all the way to present day.  These log cabins were like ones that people live in hundreds of years ago!
We really wanted to see into them to see what they were like on the inside.  This door was just the right size for me!
A little log chair to sit on outside the front door!
We had fun checking out all the cabins and looking in all the doors and windows that we were able to look in!
It was a pretty warm day out so we thought we would take a break on the log bench in the shade!
The beautiful scenery while we waited!
There was a lot of different machinary to look at and read about.  We asked a lot of questions and were very curious about how it all worked
We worked our way to more and more modern equipment until we reach present day.  We still have a little ways to go before we get to present day.
We thought we would take a break and go look at the river that ran through there.
Scouty really wanted to get to the river and get a drink.  It was a very pretty stretch of the river.
The pool at the bottom of the little rifle was a beautiful blue color.  Makayla loved the blue water, because, blue is her favorite color.  She wanted me to try to get a picture of it, but it didn't show up as well in the picture.
'It was a fun and educational stop on our way home!

Crooked River Scenic Byway

July 1, 2015
For today's adventure we took the Crooked River Scenic Byway down to the dam.  We stopped along the way to enjoy the river and let Scout run around a little bit!
I put in some pictures of the scenic drive for those of you who are interested in what it looks like around Prineville.

We got our swimsuits on and headed into the Prineville Reservoir!
I of course got right in!
I was a little more hesitant about getting in than my sister!
I posed for a sweet picture as I worked my way in!
Here I come mom!
I love to swim in the water like a fish!
I got up to my knees and that was plenty to make me smile!
Some pictures from around Prineville Reservoir.  Just to give case you are curious on what it looks like there!

We had another fun morning out exploring!

Walton Lake

June 30, 2015
Today, we decided to go explore the forest that Dad is working on here in Prineville.  The forest that he is working on is the Ochoco National Forest.  We drove around for a little bit and ended up at Walton's Lake, which, is one of the big attractions on this forest!
We wanted to climb up on the retaining wall and walk on it like a big balance beam.
Mom wanted a picture of us at the top before we hopped down to check out the lake.
Here we are in front of Walton lake!
Of course, we wanted to get our feet in the water and see what the water felt like.  Scout really wanted to get a drink of water!
It was very nice and pretty up at Walton's Lake!
They had a path around the lake for people to hike on.  We explored some it.  I found a nice stump to sit on and rest!
I found a stump for me too!
We love to play around in the water as much as we can!
Thought I would try out the stump again on the way back!
I found my stump again too!
We went out onto the little fishing dock.  On our walk we came across a couple who had been out fishing and caught some trout.  We thought we would look for some more trout.
It was fun to get out and get to explore this morning!
One last picture before we head back to Prineville to meet up with Dad for lunch.  It was nice to get out and see the Ochoco forest.
