Today was the last day that Grammy and Granpy were going to be here, so, we thought we would get out and explore a new area on a beautiful day. We headed to the Sacramento River Bend area that has bird sanctuaries and trails. Grammy got the binoculars out of her car so we could check out the birds. I had fun checking out the bugs instead!
We are ready to head out and see what we can find!
We headed out onto the dock to check out the pond!
With the weather being so warm this winter the wild flowers were already out. Mom tried to get a picture of us by the lupine, which, is one of her favorite wild flowers!
We hiked along until we came to another pond and thought we would check it out and see if there were any fish in it.
The hiking is a little slow with a 2 year old who wants to walk, so, when we got to the 2nd pond we sent them men (Daddy, Granpy, and Scout) back to get the cars. While we waited for them, we had some granola bar to tied us over.
When I finished my granola bar, I wanted to go explore down by the lake. Grammy went with me and got some sweet photos of me!
She tried some photos from the tree stump.
Mom wanted to get a picture of us girls with Grammy!
I took my turn on the stump. We headed up to the dock were we had a great time going back and forth collecting rocks and then throwing them into the pond.
On the way back to our house, we stopped off at Sonic for lunch! We ate outside, so, we could all eat together. It ended up being a little windier than we expected.
That evening, we wanted to take the Jeep out to show Grammy and Granpy!
Makayla has started taking a turn driving again. For a little while she refused to drive, but has decided to try again.
I think the real reason Makayla started driving again was so she could open and shut the doors. She would wait for McKenzie to get in and then shut the door for her before running to her side and to shut her door.
Aren't we so sweet!
We drove on into the sunset back to our house for dinner! Thanks for coming and visiting us Grammy and Granpy! We had a wonderful time.
