Grammy and Granpy return

August 24, 2016
On Sunday we decided that it would be easier on all of us if we stayed at Grammy and Granpy's house and Dad headed back to the hotel in Prineville (if you have every stayed in a hotel for extended period of time with two young kids and not on vacation you would understand why!).  For a couple of days we were stuck without a car until Grammy and Granpy got back.  We walked to the park near by and played at their house while we waited for their return.
We were so excited that they made it safely back yesterday and were ready to go and play today!  Well first we went to check out their apple tree which is the coolest apple tree we have ever seen.  It has six different branches that spread out and each branch has a different type of apple.
We each got to pick a couple of apples and then we did a taste test to see what they tasted like and if they were ready to pick yet.
Wow!  This one is hard to get off!
I think I found a good one.
I found a Honeycrisp and a Chehalis.
We had to get Granpy in on the picking fun, since, it is his apple tree!
He helped us pick an Akane apple to try.
It was on one of the tall branches, so, I had to get on my tippy toes and reached up high to get one.  We headed inside and cut one of each up and sure enjoyed our apple tasting. We loved them all!  Apples are so good fresh off a tree!
Since we had been at the house for the last couple of days we thought we would drive to a park in Longview to play and have a picnic.
I loved having Grammy push me on the swing.
I thought I would try swinging on this.
Nothing like a good old bouncy car ride.
We headed over to find a picnic table to have lunch at.
We sure enjoyed our lunch at Lake Sacajawea.
After lunch we headed back to the playground to play for a little bit.
McKenzie likes this piece of equipment.  You hop on and it spins you around and around and around.  It was fun and sure made me dizzy.
I am going to climb to the top!
Here I go!  Ready to spin myself dizzy.
Grammy helped me swing in a circle and then get back up onto the platform.  We sure had fun at the park and lunch.  We are sure glad that Grammy and Granpy are back at their house!

Grammy and Granpy's house without them

August 20, 2016
This weekend we headed to Grammy and Granpy's house.  They are still in North Carolina visiting Uncle Jeff, Aunt Susan, and our cousins.  We were pretty tired of the hotel, so, we thought we would go hang out at their house for the weekend and enjoy a home instead of a hotel.
This weekend ended up being the hottest weekend I think they had all summer.  It was in the high 90's to 100 degrees.  Mom called and found out where Granpy stored the pool and filled it up for us, so, we would be able to beat the heat!
We had a great time splashing and swimming around in that little pool.  Their yard slopes just a little bit, so, we ended up with a shallow end and a deep end.
Thanks Grammy and Granpy for letting us use your place and helping us survive while we are homeless!

Centennial Park

August 18, 2016
We headed into Redmond today to get some thing from the storage unit.  It was a hot day, so, mom thought she would surprise us by taking us to Centennial Park.  It is a spraying water fountain that the city put in for their centennial anniversary.
We were a little hesitant at first , but decided to join in the cooling down fun!
I liked how the water would come up in different areas and in different ways.  It kept us on our toes.
Here it comes again!
It took me a little bit to get into the spray fountain, but once I did I sure did enjoy it.
I think this huge smile shows how much I loved it!
We had a blast running through the water fountain tunnels.  It was a great way to cool off and a warm summer day!
Grandma and Grandpa sent us a hotel survival kit for our time we spent in the hotel.  It was sure a life saver!  It was full of fun crafts, which, I think we finished them all by the time we were done in the hotel.
One of the crafts were sticker books that you could create the faces on the princess or in Makayla's case the animal.  It was a blast deciding which eyes, mouth, eyebrows, and accessories to put on.
In the package she sent totes for us to decorate and then put all our fun craft stuff in.  Here is my decorated tote.
Here is my decorate tote.  We sure had fun painting on them!  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa it sure made the time in the hotel better!

Cline Falls

August 14, 2016
Today we decided to head a couple of miles outside of Redmond to check out Cline Falls and to swim in the Deschutes River.
We took a short little hike to Cline Falls.  The falls weren't tall, but they did spread out for awhile.
Daddy and I went out to check them out.
This used to be a mining site many many years ago.
Here is another portion of the falls.
I went out on the rocks to get my picture taken in front of the falls.  Don't worry I didn't go to far out onto the rocks.
There is a good portion of the falls in one shot.
I took a little break and sat down while we enjoyed the falls.
The falls from a different part of the trail.
It was a warm day, so, we liked to take water breaks.
We would try to find shady spots to get out of the heat while we rested.
On more picture with us in front of the falls together before we head back.
One more picture of just the falls before we head back to swim in the river.
I found the perfect tree to sit on while I rested.
When we got back to the car we got our swim suits on and headed to the river to cool down.
The water was cold when you first got in, but I adjusted quickly.
Look I am up to my waist.
I am getting braver and venturing out a little further.
Daddy didn't swim, but he stood in the water to cool him down.
I had fun swimming around.
I had a good time swimming too!  Next summer we are going to have to bring some tubes and float this section of the river!

Silverwood!

August 12, 2016
Today we spent the day at Silverwood Theme Park celebrating Tyler's birthday.  We had a fun day there.  For the first part of the day we went to the water park.  At the water park we loved the wave pools, lazy river, and the water slides.  They even had a couple of little water slides that I could go down.  When we were done at the water park we headed over to the amusement park part.  We had fun riding the rides.  McKenzie even went on an upside down roller coaster!  She is so brave.  We had a fun time at Silverwood!  This is the only picture that mom took because she didn't want to take her big camera to the park and Dad had the waterproof camera.  We sure had a fun time visiting Aunt Helen at her house.  Thanks Aunt Helen for a wonderful visit!
