Today we thought we would try out the Sun Lava pathway from Sunriver to Benham to Lava Lands Visitor center. We decided just to do the Sunriver to Benham falls part.
We made it to the Benham Falls parking area on our bikes, but there were some switchbacks getting down to the falls, so we decided to park our bikes and walk down to the falls.
When we got there we found a spot to sit down and take a water break and eat some trail mix.
This was a much needed water break. It was sure a warm day out.
Benham Falls
There was a lot of water falling over the falls.
Are we ready to head back yet?
We needed to get a photo of us in front of the falls before we climbed back up to our bikes.
The lighting was not very good for getting us and the falls at the same time.
A little rest while we headed up the trail.
Makayla came to join me.
Makayla wanted one of just her.
Part of the Deschutes River while we road along.
McKenzie had a great time going along the dirt path on her mountain bike.
I had a great time riding along on the tag-a-long.
More of the Deschutes river.
Riding over the bumpy wood bridge.
The view from the bridge as we cross the Deschutes.
We had a fun time riding our bikes and exploring!
When we got home we asked to have our fruit yogurt pops that we made yesterday.
They were the perfect frozen treat to help cool us off after our warm bike ride.
These sure are yummy!
We thought we would climb up the pool ladder, since we were sent outside to eat our yogurt pops.
Dad came out to join us to eat our yogurt pops. I think he came out to eat ours since he already finished his.
It was a fun day today!
