July 5-7, 2013
Mommy's office was closed the day after the 4th of July, so we decided to take the long weekend and go camping in the Plumas National Forest at Gold Lake. It is a couple hours south east of Redding and has higher elevation, so the temperatures are a lot cooler. It was a new place to go camping that we hadn't been before. I got to hang out in my stroller while mom and dad set up camp!
I got to bring my princess bucket and some tools, so that I could play in the dirt. It isn't a camping trip without getting dirty. I went right to work as soon as my bucket was unpacked!
We went shopping before we left and I asked mom if we could have macaroni and cheese to go with my hot dog. Here I am having some Kraft macaroni and cheese. I usually have to eat the homemade kind, so this was a special treat. When you are camping ease takes over quality! It was sure yummy!
I got to sit on the table and eat my dinner. I didn't get macaroni or a hot dog, instead I got some prunes and vegetables!
After dinner, we headed to check out the lake and see if there was any good fishing in it for Daddy. I stopped to sit on the "bench" with the lake in the background.
Makayla and I hung out in the morning while mommy got breakfast set up and Daddy went fishing for a little bit.
I helped mommy make breakfast. We had pancakes and sausage, which are some of my favorites!
My job was to carefully put the chocolate chips in the pancakes. I was a very good helper and those pancakes were sure yummy!
Gobbling down my pancakes and sausage.
I got a bottle, which made me super happy!
While mommy and daddy got breakfast cleaned up and us ready to go, I played on my computer. I found a little corner in the screened in porch to sit on and keep me busy.
We went hiking and had to get Makayla's backpack out, so I wanted to stand in the back of the truck!
I love the big girl backpack. I get so excited when I see it come out. It means we are going somewhere fun.
We went over a bridge, so daddy and I had to stop and see if there were any fish in the creek!
I made it to the falls and wanted to see it, so I climbed onto the the bottom step, so I could see over the fence!
Here are the falls that we hiked too. They fell down a long way.
I love to walk/run over bridges. Mommy actually got me to stop, so that we could take my picture on the bridge!
We drove to the next waterfall and made a quick stop that had a beautiful view!
This was love falls. We had a fun hike down to it!
I found a perfect log to sit on and have my picture taken!
Daddy went to check out the river and I got to hang out on the ground in the backpack. I love it on or off Daddy's back!
McKenzie came over to keep me company! She is such a great big sister!
When Daddy came back, he took a picture of mommy and I sitting on my log!
The next day, Daddy cooked up some bacon for breakfast. I think it was mommy's way of tricking daddy into making breakfast, since she refuses to cook bacon. Don't worry I didn't just eat a plate full of bacon we had some eggs to go with it. Good job Daddy on such a yummy breakfast!
You would think that all I did on this camping trip was sit in my stroller, but I did get to get out. It was just a clean place for me to hang out.
Mommy and Daddy were packing up our stuff, so that we could head home. While they were packing up, they put me in my pack and play outside to play. What a concept to actual play in my pack and play.
All that playing made me tired and I then needed to take a nap. Lucky thing I was in the perfect place to take a nap.
We are all ready to head out and have some fun on our way home. Daddy picked me this Indian Paint Brush and I thought that it was pretty special!
As we were driving back, we drove through the town on Graeagle. They were having a 4th of July weekend festival and had out their firetrucks. Mommy and Daddy thought that I would love it and want to check it out. We stopped and walked up to check it out and noticed that you could ride in the firetruck bucket up and down as a family. We got in line and I started saying, "I didn't want to do it", so mommy and dad asked me if I was sure I didn't want to and I said I didn't, so we left. Then I decided to throw a huge fit for quite a few miles down the road saying that I wanted to go up in the bucket and that if you asked me this time I would say yes and next time I would say no. My fit didn't work and they didn't turn the car around. Finally I calmed down and fell asleep for a little nap!
We stopped at Lake Almanor to let McKenzie play in the lake for a little bit. I got to sit in the drivers seat and pretend to drive while McKenzie got ready for the lake.
I got my swimsuit on and am ready to go play.
I love playing in the lake. It is one of my favorite things to do. Give me a bucket and a lake and I can play for hours.
I had a great time putting my feet in the water!
We went to find the yellow creek, so that Daddy could fish it for awhile. I found a post to sit on and eat my trail mix while Daddy got ready to fish.
We walked down to the creek to check it out. It was sure a cold creek!
Burr. That water it cold, but I sure had fun stomping around in it.
Splash, splash, splash. Do you think I have scared the fish away?
Mommy took us girls to explore and let Daddy fish with out us scaring all the fish away. We took a break on the table and hung out. I want to hold Makayla in my lap.
After awhile Makayla needed to eat, so we came back to the truck to hang out. I got to pretend to drive us around to a bunch of different places.
I am one happy girl now that I have a full stomach!
Mommy let me take a picture with her camera. Well I took a couple of her and Makayla. This one didn't turn out too bad!
Then, I wanted Makayla to take some pictures of me. She did a pretty good job. I think she might have had some help from mommy.
Plus I was willing to pose nicely for Makayla!
Then I wanted her to take a picture of me making a silly face. This is my silly face. I had a blast out camping with my family! What a great way to spend the 4th of July weekend.
