Dyeing Easter Eggs

March 26, 2013
Toady, Shiloh, Caleb, Hannah, and Corban came over to dye Easter eggs and have dinner.  This was the first year that I got to dye Easter eggs and I had a blast.
I had a lot of fun coloring on the eggs and then putting them into the dye and watching what I colored appear on the egg.  It was pretty exciting.  I am plotting what I should do next.
I was waiting my turn for the dye that Caleb was using.  Our eggs turned out really well.  Mom says it is because the dye was a year old, we used two tablets in each bowl, and used vinegar.  They really were vibrant eggs.
I am glad I had Hannah and Caleb there to show me how to do it.
After dinner, the eggs had dried and we were able to decorate them with stickers and put them in the egg holders.  I thought it was great to be able to put stickers on them.  I love to put sticker on everything.
I wonder which one I should decorate next.  More eggs ended up getting cracked while we decorated them, then when we dyed them.  Oh well, I guess we will have hard boiled eggs for breakfast!
Daddy had a lot of fun showing Caleb and Hannah how the shrinky dinks worked.  They were pretty amazed at how the melted down to the shape of the egg.  It was a lot of fun dyeing Easter eggs.  I can't wait until next year.  Mom already picked up the Easter dye!

5 months

March 25, 2013
I am 5 months today.  I keep growing and growing.  I love to roll over from my stomach to my back.  I like to play on the floor.
Here I am ready to roll over.  I had to stop and rest up to get myself over the rest of the way.
I am back on my tummy.  My Mommy put me here and I rewarded her with a really big smile.
And another sweet smile!
I am pretty proud of myself for getting onto my back!
I like to play with toys.  I also like to be around people.  So my sister, sweetly moves me into the kitchen where mommy is cooking to keep her company.  According to McKenzie, I even have my own spot that I go to each time.
Today, she really wanted me to have my toys.  I think she may have found every toy that I can play with and piled them on me.  I was entertained for hours!
I really love my sister.  I think she is the greatest person.  I watch her where ever she goes.  Thanks McKenzie for taking such good care of me.
Now that I am getting bigger, I got to try out my ExerSaucer.  It was a lot of fun.  I sure felt like a big girl in there.
The main thing I did was try to get the toys to my mouth.  That is what I do with everything.  Put it in my mouth.
I gave up on the toys after awhile and thought I would see what the seat tasted like.  I sure had fun playing in my new toy.
We had a lot of sets of bunny ears at my house and McKenzie wanted us all to wear them.  I got the small pair and look at the sweet little bunny.
I make the sweetest bunny.  I even left the ears on my head until mommy took them off when Daddy got home.

Shiloh's princess party!

March 23, 2013
Today, I went to my friend Shiloh's 3rd birthday party.  She had a really fun princess party.  We got to dress up as princess.  Here I am with my crown, sunglasses, and putting on some sparkly lip gloss.
We got to make the bead necklaces ourselves.  What a fun project!  I am putting on some princess earrings.  It was pretty fun to get all dressed up!
Makayla got to come to the party too.  She got all dressed up in her yellow Belle dress.  Well it was just yellow, but she looks like a sweet baby Belle!
It is hard to see, but I got some gold earrings.  After all, I am a princess too!  They were adorable on me!
I was excited to show daddy all the princess dress up stuff that was in my bag.  Shiloh's party was sure a big hit!
I got a little thing of princess bubbles that I wanted to go outside and try.  Daddy went out with me to show me how the bubbles work.
It was fun blowing and popping the bubbles!  What a fun day!

The rest of our adventures with Grammy and Aunt Helen

March 19-22, 2013
We headed to Turtle Bay to take Aunt Helen, but I guess in the winter on Tuesday's Turtle Bay is closed.  We luckily had the double stroller in the back of the Subaru and went for a walk along the river trail.  We saw a lot of wild animals out on our walk today.  We saw a couple of deer, some turtles, squirrels and some birds.  I had fun trying to keep Makayla happy.
Makayla wanted to get out for a little while and be carried.  She convinced Grammy to take her out.
After my nap, Grammy and I made some foam Easter chicks and bunnies.  We had fun doing crafts together.
Grammy knitted me a stocking cap which I had to try it on.  It is a cute one.
While Grammy and Aunt Helen were here, we changed the bedrooms over.  We finally took the toddler/crib bed out of McKenzie's room and put it into my room.  Now she get to sleep in the big double bed and I get a crib in my room.  Yep!  this should work nicely.
I have a lot of room to grow into the bed.
That evening, we went out to the airport to eat at the Chinese restaurant.  I thought it was fun to drink the tea.  It was pretty much all water with a splash of tea.  I thought I was pretty grown up to drink tea from a tea cup.
I thought that I should have some Chinese food, since everybody else got some.  Don't worry Mommy didn't really give me any.  I would have tried to eat it if she let me.
I wanted to eat with chop sticks, but I couldn't figure it out.  Mommy helped me eat some of my food with my chop sticks.
I had fun eating up the chow mien noodles.  It was fun to eat Chinese food at the airport.
I got to hang out with Aunt Helen while mommy finished her food.
We decided to head back to Turtle Bay on Thursday, since it would be open this time.  I had fun driving Aunt Helen and Grammy around in the truck.
We headed down to watch the animals being trained and I woke up to watch.  I was more than happy to have Aunt Helen take me to give Mom's back a break after caring me for the nap.
In the spring, they let people watch them train the animals and then they tell you about the animals that they are training.  Mommy loves to go and watch because it is only for a little while and we learn a ton.  Here I am waiting for them to start.  Today they were training the Larakeets.  It was fun watching the pretty birds.
I wanted to go down the big log slide.  I am getting so brave.  Except this time I made Aunt Helen come with me.
We thought we would try to feed the birds again this year.  I was doing okay and then one landed on my head and freaked me out, so I huddled in as close to Aunt Helen as possible.  I did okay if I was really close to Aunt Helen and the birds ate off of her.
Maybe next year I will like the birds more.  We will have to try it again.  They really are pretty birds.
I wanted to go out and show Grammy and Aunt Helen how well I was doing on my balance bike.  Off we go on an adventure.  It was sure a fun visit.

Plan B at Hedge Creek Falls

March 18, 2013
Here we are at Hedge Creek Falls in Dunsmuir, Ca.  We headed up to the McCloud Falls to see them, but they were still snowed in.  Mommy had tried to find these falls before, but was not lucky.  This time we successfully found them and found a bench to rest on while we hiked down.
You could walk down under the falls and go behind them.  I wasn't too sure of going behind the waterfall.  I told Mommy and Grammy that it was really loud and get you wet.
Here are the falls in the background.  Grammy helped me balance on the rock while I walked.
I got to be carried again for this hike.  I like to peek out and see what was going on around me.
Here we are at a bench on the other side of the falls.  They sure had a lot of benches for a hike that wasn't too strenuous.
I found a big rock to sit on.  Grammy couldn't pass up a cute photo-op.
Great Aunt Linda sent down some ornaments which would capture our hand prints forever.  I had fun making my hand print and ornament.  I got to do the star one.
I also got to help make Makayla's ornament.  She wasn't too sure about what was going on, but she went along with it.  It will sure be fun to hang them on the tree next Christmas.
