Happy Birthday to Mom!

April 23, 2017
The weather has not been the greatest around her for Grammy and Granpy's visit.  It has been pretty cold and cloudy with intermittent rain.  This morning was supposed to be sunny, so, we thought we would head to the Sunriver Observatory to check it out.
I know what you are thinking, "Why would you visit an observatory in the middle of the day?"  Well they have a couple of telescopes that you can look through to see the sun.  Dad is helping me see through this one.
It was pretty cool to look through the telescope and see the sun up close.  We were able to see solar flares and I think it was magnetic arches that we saw.
We shared the telescopes and even let the adults look through them.
I had so much fun checking out the sun.  We even got some solar glasses for the solar eclipse this summer.  We now know what is going to happen for the solar eclipse!

In some of our hand me down stuff there were ballet clothes in them.  Mom decided to let me have them as dress up clothes.  I love to wear them around the house.  Check out my outfit today.  I look like a princess ballerina if I have ever seen one!
My outfit was so fantastic that Mom had to take at least a couple of pictures.

Today is Mom's birthday.  We thought we would get out and do something fun, unfortunately it was really cold today so that limited what we were able to do.  We headed down to the Nature Conservancy in Sunriver to check it out.  We got a pass from the library.  We had fun checking it out.   I always like to check out my wingspan and see what bird I match.
Granpy almost had the same wingspan as a golden eagle.  That is pretty impressive!!!!
This evening we both had soccer practice, so, Grammy spoiled mom while we were at practice and made calzones for dinner and then made dessert for her birthday.  We wanted to open presents before we had to head to bed.  I think Scout is going to start in while we take some pictures.
There you go Scout way to smile for the camera.  This big gift is from Dad and us!  Mom wanted a table and chairs to put outside on our porch to hang out in while we played out front.  We did a great job of picking a great table and chairs.  We have even used them already!  Don't worry those pictures are to come!
The other thing that mom wanted was a new day pack for hiking, which she got this great one from Grandma and Grandpa.  Her other one the zippers had broke and it is nice to have a backpack to put all our waters and stuff in so she doesn't have to carry it all!  I wanted to try the backpack on and wear it.  It totally fits and I can use it for hiking.
McKenzie wanted to try it on too, but for some reason it made her really sad.
A Happy Birthday picture with mom, well an almost happy birthday picture.  McKenzie is working really hard not to smile.

Mom picked out a chocolate caramel pecan tart dessert for her birthday, but it the caramel needed more time to set up before we could eat it.  We ended up waiting until the next day to blow out candles and have dessert!
It was sure yummy and well worth the wait!  Thanks Grammy and Granpy for coming and making mom's birthday so fun!

Soccer and Granpy's b-day

April 22, 2017
It is picture day for my team this week. I am posed for my photo!
Grammy and Granpy came into town this morning to catch our soccer games and help celebrate Mom's birthday!  Grammy got some soccer pictures for Mom.
I am warming up and getting into soccer mode!
Lets get this game going!  I had a fun soccer season.  I ended up scoring three goal through out the season.  I even scored one today!!!!  It is fun to watch me go after the ball and not be afraid to get in there.
I had fun playing in the goal before my soccer game started.
My first soccer season was an interesting one.  I didn't get all that into it, maybe next year will be better.
This would be me hustling to my ball during warm ups.
I made it to my ball.  Now what?
Granpy's birthday was last Tuesday, but we thought we would wait until he got her today to celebrate it.  Of course, he needed our help opening his presents!
I wonder what it is going to be?
Then we took him outside to show him the presents that we made for him.  We hid them in plain sight and he didn't even know it.  We made him a couple of flower hanging baskets for his house.  We had fun picking out the flowers and the planting them!  Happy Birthday Granpy!  We love you!

Easter

April 16, 2017
This Easter we got up made our resurrection breakfast rolls, finished the last resurrection advent egg, and then headed to church.  We had a fantastic time in Sunday school.  My favorite thing was the colored jelly beans we got with a paper that told what the color represented in telling the story of Jesus' Resurrection.
After some lunch, mom and Dad gave us our Easter baskets to open.
I am excited to see what is in my basket.
I got so many fun things to check out.
Hey check this out!
Nothing more exciting than getting a science book and a subtraction workbook in your Easter basket.  To me those are fantastic things!  I love to learn.
We really love tape right now for some reason, so, for Easter we each got some Frozen tape to use however we wanted.  There is not much better than tape except for Frozen tape!
I got a little Lego bridge set in my Easter basket.  I figured the best person to help me would be a bridge engineer!  We were able to assemble the bridge and then play with it!
Brighton, her mom, and Grandma came over for an Easter egg hunt and dinner.  The adults hid the eggs in the back and the front while we played in the play room.  Then we read the story of the lady and the lost coin and she searched until she found it and celebrated with all her neighbors and friends.  After the story, we went out to find some lost coins that were hidden in the eggs.
I went right to finding them!
Look at the egg I found with coins in it!
I had to crawl over the trampoline to get an egg on the far side!
I am having a great time looking for all the lost coins.
I found one hiding over by the shed.
My basket is getting pretty full, but I am sure there are a couple more out here to find.
I think we have found all of them back here.  Lets head to the front!
Dad helped me get an egg down from the tree that I spotted, but it was too tall for me to reach!
We had a very nice Easter and celebrating Jesus rising from the grave!!!!!

Decorating Easter Eggs

April 15, 2017
Today our friend Brighton came over and we had fun dying Easter eggs.  I liked dipping mine in a bunch of colors and seeing what would happen.
I took a little less crazy approach to dying Easter eggs.  I would leave it in one color and let it stay there for a while!
I wanted to make sure the egg got fully covered and the color was even.  This is sure going to be a pretty egg.
We used white crayons to write on the eggs and have surprise messages on them after we dyed them.  I wonder what is decorated or written on this one?
I have had a blast dying my eggs.  I didn't color on too many of them, instead I would have mom draw or write on them and then be surprised when I took it out of the dye.
Didn't it turn out nice!!!!!  We ended up dying 3 dozen Easter eggs and had a great time doing it.  Some of the eggs ended up not being hard boiled.  Mom must have put some in the wrong contaniers.  Luckly the couple that we cracked while dying them were the hard boiled ones.  Now we finally know what happens if you dye an egg that is hard boiled!
