1st Day in Washington!

December 22, 2012
This is my first trip to Washington to visit Grammy and Granpy.  The day before we left Redding, it snowed and the interstate was closed, so we didn't think we would be able to go.  That morning there was a break in the storm and God answered mommy's prayers with clear roads the whole way there.  Praise the Lord!  After a long day in the car the day before, I needed a bath and what a wonderful bath it was.  I actually got to get into the water instead of in the sling that holds me up in my bath.  I really really love water.
Grammy has me all clean and ready to go for today's adventures!
Grammy and Granpy's good friends Butch and Pam came over to meet me before we headed up to Seattle. I had fun getting to meet them.
I was trying out a little rocking seat to see if I would like it.  I sure did.  I liked it enough for it to come home with me.
On our way up to Seattle, we stopped by my Great Uncle Joe and Aunt Linda's house to drop off Scout at camp Phillips.  It was sure fun to meet them and their kids, Caitlin, Colin, and Haley.
I had to do an outfit change after exploding out of my diaper all over pour Haley.  Sorry about that Haley!  After that excitement, I got some snuggle time with Great Aunt Linda.
By the time we made it up to Seattle, it was time to get our rain gear on and go see the zoo all lit up with "Sparkly lights" aka Christmas lights.  How exciting to see Christmas lights and animals at the same place!
They had the indoor exhibits open so you could warm up, play, and see the indoor animals while you were there.  Sydney, Wyatt, Tyler and myself all stopped to look at the aquarium.
I wasn't so sure about going out on the edge to have Daddy get me down, but I got enough courage to get to him!
Great Aunt Melany lifted me up so I could see all  the animals in the exhibits.  There is Aunt Sarah and Wyatt checking out the animals with us.
They had the reindeer out eating.  The camera caught me trying to talk and smile at the same time.  It didn't really work that well!
Here is our whole family.  Makayla didn't see much, but she stayed nice and warm in the Ergo while we explored.
Here is the whole gang that went.  We sure had a lot of fun seeing the zoo all lit up!
After the zoo we headed back to Uncle Scott's and Aunt Sarah's house, which is were we stayed for Christmas!.  Here I am with Great Uncle Wayne just hanging out before we have dinner.  I am glad that they were able to come over so I could meet them.
Uncle Wayne and Aunt Melany gave me some dog puppets for Christmas.  Tyler (3) and I had a great time putting on a puppet show!  What a perfect gift for me.
Tyler and I had a lot of fun playing together.  Just look at those smiles.  I sure do love my cousins.

Dancing with rhythm?

Makayla was playing on her mat and I would turn the music on for here.  I also did a great job of entertaining her by doing a dance for her.  Daddy called mommy into the living room so she could see my dance.  I sure do have a lot of rhythm!!!
We were getting into the Christmas spirit to decorate our tree, so mommy put some Christmas music on.  She looked over and there I was swaying to the music with my dolly.  It was so sweet.
A little more of my dancing!
Daddy was teaching me to do some push-ups.  Wow!  Am I one strong girl!

Snow in Redding!

December 21, 2012
It actually snowed and stuck to the ground here in Redding at my house.  Daddy said I watched the pretty snow fall outside the window all morning.

Daddy wasn't sure how to get both Makayla and me out in the snow during the day, so when mommy got home we put on my winter jacket and snow boots and went out to stomp around.  There was more snow earlier in the day, but I will take what I can get.  I had fun stomping around in the dark with my flashlight!

December 16, 2012
I am already for church and waiting for everybody else to get ready.
There is my sister, she is almost ready to go to church she just needs to put her socks and shoes on.  She decided to hang out with me for a moment.
I look a little scared.  It must be that scary bright flash.
I got a little time to play before we leave.  Yeah!  I love to play.

Decorating the Christmas Tree

December 15, 2012
The goal of today is to decorate our Christmas tree that has been up for a week without decorations.  To get us in the mood we got to drink out of our special Christmas mugs and put on our Christmas shirts.
I love my big penguin mug.  It matches my shirt, which in my world is pretty exciting.
Mommy and Daddy showed me a little Christmas sock and I thought that it supposed to be a sock for my foot instead of a decoration.  Everything is so literal at this age!
I had the most fun unwrapping the ornaments and handing them to mommy to put on the tree.
See this one, it is Cracker Barrel restaurant.  Yummm Cracker Barrel!
Here is the gingerbread man ornament that I made with Grandma.  I wonder where I should put it on the tree.
Putting the ornaments on the tree was tricky.  I usually had to have a little help.
Makayla got to watch us decorate the tree.  I think she liked the sparkly lights.
I love to smile these days!  Daddy was getting a lot of good smiles so Mommy tried to get one a camera.

Blankets

 December 13, 2012
I love to play with and take care of my Dollies, so I was excited when I got the blanket my Grandma made me for them.  Now I can wrap up my dollies just like we wrap up Makayla.
I (McKenzie) made a bed with my dolly blanket and picnic tablecloth for Makayla in the swing.  I really wanted Mommy to put Makayla in it and take a picture.  I am such a thoughtful little girl.
I also got some nice blankets that Grandma made, but mine were for me and not my dollies.  All covered up with one and having a little snooze.
Such a peaceful face!

Getting a Christmas Tree

 December 8, 2012
We are headed up to Mt. Lassen area to find a Christmas tree.  When Mom was pulling out my hat and mittens, I grabbed a hat to put on and wouldn't take it off.  I also needed sunglasses because it was a sunny day.  Lucky thing they stay up even on the outside of my hat!

We went with our friends the Geyer's  Here I am eating my lunch with Caleb, Hannah, and Shiloh before we go out on our Christmas tree hunt.
Even though the sun was shinning, it was still cold up where we were, so we had to get all bundled up.  Hannah, Shiloh, and I are all ready to go find our Christmas Tree.
We hiked up in the woods for a little while until we found some trees that we liked.  Here I am with Daddy before we cute our tree down.
Standing back watching Daddy cut the Christmas tree down.  Go Daddy go!
Hannah and I hanging out in the truck while we wait for our Dads to bring the trees back!
We found a little patch of ice, I mean snow, that we had fun playing in.  Here is my snowball.
Shiloh and I had fun throwing the snow on the ground.
Mom thought since we were out getting a Christmas tree it would be a good chance to get a picture for our Christmas card.
I got to get out of my Ergo back and hang out with Daddy for a little bit.  I don't remember much of getting a tree because I slept through most of it.
Ahh!  The best part of getting a Christmas tree, the hot chocolate and cookies!
A little smile while I sleep. There you go I really am in that pink snowsuit.
There I am awake in the truck while the tree gets securely loaded up.  I sure did stay nice and warm in my snowsuit.
All buckled in again and ready to go home.  I look like I had a lot of fun with my hat head, rosy cheeks and stripped down to my long underwear.

There were some pretty views of Mt. Lassen on our way home.  Mom took this one through the front window as we drove.  What a fun day with friends and family.
