Fish Creek Falls and playing in the backyard!

August 10, 2015
Yeah!  We made it!  Well we made it yesterday, but we are up and ready for our first adventure at Grandma and Grandpa's house!
We decided to get out and move around a little bit today, since, we have been sitting the last couple of days.  We headed to Fish Creek Falls to hike and see the water fall.  That is Fish Creek Falls in the background.
We had a nice hike to the falls.  It wasn't too far which is a good thing, because, the elevation difference makes it harder to hike.  We tried to run part of the way, but got winded a lot quicker.
We headed down to the river to dip our feet in and see how cold it was!
I had to sit down to get my shoes off.  I am ready to get my feet wet!
This is going to be so fun!
Dad took me over to put me in a little pool.  It was sure cold, but refreshing!
I wanted Dad to put me in the same pool he put McKenzie in!
Thanks Daddy for the help!
This rock had a perfect area carved out for a seat for me!
Better yet, I could lay back and take in some rays!
I thought I would try the rock chair!
Grandma and I found a rock to sit on, so, we could dry our feet off and put our shoes back on!
We are back to the waterfall and got a picture with us and Grandma in front of it.
That evening, we headed out back to try out the bow and arrow set that Grandpa found for us at an arts and crafts fair.  Daddy showed me how to bring it back to shoot it.
It was sure fun to shoot and I really started to get the hang of it.
I collected an arrow that McKenzie shot!
A quick pose for a picture before I shot my next arrow.
I had a lot of fun shooting the arrow.  Mom came over to take a video of me in action and how do I thanked her, by hitting her with an arrow.  I don't think I would have been able to hit her if I was really trying.  In fact, I think mom got hit by both Makayla and me.  Lucky thing these arrows have a pool noodle on the end!
I am working on my golf game, so, I can get a scholarship in college.  What do you think of my chances?  I know after watching this video, you are thinking I am a natural.
I helped Aunt Aubrey husk some corn for dinner.
After McKenzie's turn, I wanted to try out the bow and arrow.  Dad showed me how to load my arrow.
Then I carefully got the arrow on the string.
Ready set shoot!
I did it!
Can you tell I am two by this video and me wanting to try to do it by myself?  Here I am learning to shoot the bow.
I had fun being pushed around by Grandpa in the wagon.
There is a little hill on the side of the yard which was so much fun to ride down.  It was quite the little ride!
I had a lot of fun in the little red wagon!
Aunt Aubrey found daisies for each of us to wear in our hair!
Makayla had so much fun riding the wagon down the hill that I thought I would join in on the fun!
Grandpa went and got the wagon that his Dad had, which, was big enough for us to go down together in.  We had a great time playing in the background.
After dinner, I wanted to show Grandma and Grandpa how well I was doing at riding my bike.  So, we rode circles around their cul-de-sac!  It was fun to get to ride!
It was national s'mores day, so, Grandpa lit a fire in the fire pit and Grandma helped us make ice cream cone s'mores.
We put marshmallows and chocolate chips in ice cream cones then wrapped them in foil and put them in fire to melt.  They were sure a yummy treat.  We had a fun first day in Colorado.

Our road trip to Colorado!

August 8, 2015
We are ready for another road trip again and this time we are headed to Colorado to see Grandma and Grandpa.  We really like to get into our jeep and play around and pretend to drive while mom and dad are finishing packing us up.  This will be our longest road trip of the summer, so, hers hoping that it goes well!
My friend Allie (really know as McKenzie's friend Allie) has this Care Bear that she lets me borrow from time to time.  They were over at our house having dinner a couple of nights before we left and her Care Bear got left at our house, so, I thought it would want to go on an adventure with us!  Here we are at our first pit stop all the way to Susanville, CA.
I have somehow never been to Nevada before, so, when we crossed into Nevada mom thought she would get a photo of me in a new state!  That puts me up to eight states now!
We have had a busy and long day of travel.  At dinner, mom put us in our pajamas and we headed off Salt Lake City for the night.  Here I am crossing into Utah, which, adds another state for me.  Now I am up to nine states.  Not to bad for a 2 year old!
I have never been to Utah either, so, Katelyn and I got our picture taken in Utah!  When mom asked me if I thought Utah or Nevada was prettier I said, "Utah!"  As we were coming into our hotel, when it was dark, I looked over and saw a big fireworks display going on.  It was sure fun to see the fireworks even from a distance.  That was the highlight of my first day of travel!

August 9, 2015
We are back in the car and ready to make it to Steamboat Springs, Co today with of course a couple of pit stops along the way!
We made a bathroom stop some where in Utah and Care Bear and I wanted to get out and stretch our legs.
I rewarded mom with some good smiles for getting me out of the car!
I found one of Dad's hats and had fun trying it on!
The Dinosaur National Monument was on the way to Steamboat Springs and since we had fun seeing fossils at John Day and Dad remembered having fun there when he was little we thought we would take a pit stop and check it out.
Check out the big dinosaur we found.  I hope he doesn't get us!
They had a tram that you were supposed to ride up to the top where the quarry exhibit hall was.  We really wanted to ride the tram, but Scout wasn't allowed on the tram so Dad had to follow us up in the car with Scout.  The bus driver was really nice and offered to take our picture while we waited for everybody to load up!
We are excited to get to ride a tram and see the dinosaur fossils!
Scout wasn't allowed in the building, so, mom and dad took turns walking him around while we went with one or the other to explore the exhibit.  First, we went in with Dad and was very excited to get to actually touch a fossil!
While mom was waiting for us, she decided to take some photos of the surrounding area.  Here is the landscape from the top of the hill!
The valley and the river down below.
The Quarry Exhibit Hall.
Some of the rock formations

We came out and then wanted to head in again with mom.  The area behind me had tons of different fossils through out it.
It was fun to see so many fossils in the ground!
Here is a small area and example of all the fossils they have discovered in this area.
When we were walking down to the main floor a women who works there was taking a cart with containers down.  I asked what was in them and the lady asked if I wanted to hold one and get my picture taken with one.  I was pretty excited to get to hold one and pose with it.
Look, I am a dinosaur.  They told us what type it was, but we don't remember.
She asked me if I wanted to hold one too, but I wasn't so sure about it.
I wanted to reach up as far as I could to touch this fossil.
Look at how big this fossil is.  I can only imagine the size of the dinosaur.
We sure had a fun time looking at and touching the fossils!
We really wanted to ride the tram back down to the parking lot, but with dad this time!  We had a great time at our pit stop.
We made it to Colorado.  Now that is an excited face!  Only a little bit further until we are there!

Animal show at Turtle Bay!

August 5, 2015
We have been gone quite a bit of this summer, so, we thought we would try to see some friends during the couple of days we were home before we left town again.  We usually like to see the animal show that they do at Turtle Bay at least once in the summer.  We had not had a chance to see it yet, so, mom thought she would see if Collin and Sienna would want to come and play at Turtle Bay with us today.  It ended up being an over cast morning and quite a bit cooler than usual, so, we picked one of the best days this summer to watch the show!
I had fun watching and learning about all the animals and what tricks they can do!
I did a good job of sitting and watching the whole show!
A picture of the four of us on the Sundial Bridge by Turtle Bay.  We sure had a fun morning with friends!
