Today, we headed a crossed the street to enterprise park for my 1 st triathlon. The city of Redding parks and rec put it on with the 1st five program to promote getting out and exercising. I rode my bike over for my warm up.
Instead of swimming they had a ball hopper portion. I thought I would try them out before the race, so, I could figure out the quickest way to hop!
The first couple of times I got going too fast and leaned too far forward and fell off. I thought it was pretty funny to fall off.
I got back on right away to give it another try and started to get the hang of it.
This time I leaned to far back and fell off backwards. I had fun practicing and was able to figure it out.
I got to hang out with doggie and my toast and cheer sister on. I am still to little to participate in the triathlon but maybe next year.
Mom pinned my number on my back right before the race. Now it is an unofficial official competition. In other words it was for fun and not to see who is the fastest.
On your marks get set go!
The first part of the race was a bike ride. All types of bikes and tricycles were excepted, so, my balance bike was perfect. They had a parent follow you and direct you on where to go. I wanted mom to help me.
After the bike, it was the ball hopper portion.
It really helped to go fast if you stuck your tongue out.
Those ball hoppers are a good workout and very tiring, but sure fun.
The last portion was the run. Mommy ran with me and snuck ahead for some pictures.
The final sprint to the finish line. Here I come. Even dad and Makayla got in on chasing me to the finish line!
Some much needed water after my race. I had a lot of fun doing my first triathlon and said I wanted to do it again some time.
We stopped to take a picture in the Redding grasshopper on the way to the refreshments.
Sweet makayla got to get out of the stroller and have her picture taken with the grasshopper.
You were able to do the course as many times as you wanted, so after a little break, I was ready to go again. Here I am back at the start.
I was pretty excited to go another round. I went over and over again at least three or four times for the bike.
I had fun doing the ball hopper not quite as many times as the bike because it was a lot more tiring.
After I ran, hopped, and biked to my hearts content we sat down and had our refreshments. They were sure yummy.
I really thought that I should have had a turn on the bike portion, so, Daddy helped me onto McKenzie's balance bike.
This balance bike is so cool. I can't wait for McKenzie to get a real bike and I can have the balance bike.
I was very helpful and helped pick up the cones when it was time to go.
I met a new friend and we had fun playing together. She even let me try her tricycle.
I had a lot of fun carrying the cones to be put away. It was sure a fun morning!
