Spokane River Front Park!

August 10, 2016
Today we headed to Spokane's river front park.  They have the biggest wagon ever built.  Well mom just made that up, but the red wagon jungle gym was huge and fun to play on.
The handle was the slide!  Here I go!
I took a turn on it too!
Underneath there were monkey bars which mom helped me do!
Aunt Helen took some pictures while mom helped me across.
I had fun going down the slide a bunch of different times.
Right by the big wagon they had blocks that you could climb on that spelled out Spokane City.
We thought we would get a picture of us with Aunt Helen with the Spokane river in the background.
I had fun climbing on the blocks.
I climbed to the top of the block pile.
A pose for mom.
I sat down and posed for mom also.
Ta-da!
Ta-da!
We sure had fun on the blocks and at the wagon.
Next we headed to find a picnic table to have lunch at.  We ended up finding some stairs that we could sit on by the river front instead of a picnic table.
We sure had a good lunch that Aunt Helen packed for us!
There were some people feeding ducks and they brought a lot of bread and wanted to know if we wanted to feed the ducks too.
We had fun feeding the geese, ducks, and even a seagull.
After lunch we rode our bike and scooter down to the Spokane falls to see them.
We crossed over the bridge to the other side.  We were being very safe with our helmets on!
A view of some of the falls from the bridge.
We wanted to get a picture with us and Aunt Helen on the bridge!
Some more of the falls!  It was sure pretty to see some of the falls that flow through the Spokane River Front.
Our last stop down at the river front was the carousel.  It was made over a hundred years ago as a wedding gift.  It got restored after the World's fair that was in Spokane and kids have enjoyed riding on it ever since.
I wasn't tall enough to go on by myself, so, Aunt Helen went on and stood by me to keep me safe.  She also got us buckled in!
We are all ready for the ride to begin.
I don't look to sure about this.  By this look you would think this is my first carousel ride.
I was excited to get going.
The carousel spun so fast that it was hard for mom to get clear pictures when we came around.  She at least got me smiling!
One of the three of us going around.
I got brave enough to let go with one hand and wave.
We had so much fun that we wanted to ride it again.  This time we found different horses to ride.
We both found black horses this time!
All set to go for our second time!
Aunt Helen was trying to get us to let go with both hands.  McKenzie was braver than me!
Here I am trying to let go.  I would let go and then quickly put my hands back on.  Oh the tricks we learn from Aunt Helen.
On the way back we stopped by the garbage goat.  I got on for a ride.
McKenzie joined me for the ride.
We even got Mom to pose with us and the goat.
This is what we mean by the garbage goat.  You put some garbage in front of his mouth and he sucks it right up.
We had a blast feeding him our trash from our lunch.  What a fun way to throw away your trash!  Goats seriously do eat everything.
At Aunt Helen's house, I had a great time reading books with her.
We headed out to Aunt Helen's garden to pick some of the beautiful Dahlias she had and put them in vases inside!
I think these will make a beautiful bouquet.
She had so many different colors and sizes.  Some were even as big as my head.  We sure had a fun day down at the river front and at Aunt Helen's house!

Cat Tales

August 9, 2016
Yesterday we drove to Spokane Wa to visit Aunt Helen for the week.  We were excited to get to visit her at her house, since, we haven't been to Spokane in 6 years.  That means I was about 2 months old the last time I came and Makayla wasn't even born yet!
For the first day there she took us to Cat Tales.  Cat Tales is a large cat rescue facility.  They take in tigers, lions, cougars (that is what they call mountain lions here), leopards, bob cats, lynx and maybe a few other animals like that.
They had a lot of fun statues to climb on and I think we climbed on them all and wanted our picture taken on them all.
We found a black panther, or is it a black jaguar, or a black leopard.  No wait those are all the same animal.
He was sure fun to ride.  I am glad he is a statue and not real!
We saw some Royal White Tigers.  We learned that they are white because of a genetic mutation that causes them to be white and not the typical orange color.
There were quite a few orange tigers to look at.
I liked to get up close and look at them.  Don't worry there was this fence between me and the tiger's cage.
Yikes!  He is coming this way!
The tigers were quite entertaining to watch!
Don't tell this bear that he is not a cat and that he doesn't belong here.  We sure didn't because we wanted to stay on his good side.  Cat Tales even took a couple of bears that need rescued.
Aunt Helen got us stuffed tigers to help us remember our time at Cat Tales with her.  I got an orange tiger.
I picked a white tiger.  This rooster was a fun statue to sit on.
On our way out we found these creepy (oh I mean fun) monkeys to sit on.  Thanks Aunt Helen for taking us to Cat Tales.  We sure had fun seeing all those statues (oh wait I mean animals)!
