The long journey home!

December 28, 2015
We thought we would get in some story time with Grandma while Mom and Dad got everything packed up for us to head to the airport.
Some smiles for the camera once the book was done.
We had a fun Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa's house!
Aunt Aubrey and I thought we would warm our hands and backsides by the fire together.
A couple last quick pictures with Aunt Aubrey before we headed out.
It was sure fun to get to see Aunt Aubrey.
Here is where our crazy adventure home begins.  We had a late flight out to Reno that night.  We got to the airport checked in, got some dinner, caught a little bit of the Bronco's game, got our pajamas on and sat down to wait.  During all this our flight was on time, when we should have been boarding they delayed it an hour.  As we waited for our flight we got tired and fell fast asleep.  Our delayed departure time came and we were still fast asleep in the airport.  Then finally around 11:30 pm they came over the loud speaker and said our flight was cancelled because they didn't have a flight crew that would be available to fly the plane, because, they had been flying too many hours that day.  So, even though the weather was fine in Denver and in Reno we were stuck in Denver.  Mom and Dad woke us up and we headed down to baggage claim to get our stuff and try to rebook our flight.
Down at baggage claim we waited and waited and waited for our bags and car seats to come. During this time Dad was trying to figure out new flights or if we should rent a car and drive to Reno.  We hung out for over three to four hours just waiting to get our bags and car seats back and to get new flights out three days later.
By then all the hotels around the airport were booked up for the night from other people whose flights were cancelled earlier in the day.  So, we laid down and went back to sleep until morning when we could called Great Grandma to see that if we rented a car if she would take us in until our flight left in a couple of days.
We were such amazing troopers through this really really long night.  Mom and Dad were so proud of how well we did in the the less than ideal situation.

December 29, 2015
In the morning Dad called up Great Grandpa and she was more that thrilled to take in some stranded travelers.  We rented a car and drove out to the prairie in the north east corner of Colorado to the little town of Julesburg where she lives.  We all were able to get some much needed rest there and have a wonderful time seeing Great Grandma.
Getting to see Great Grandma was a blessing in this in whole situation, since, originally we weren't going to see her.  We had fun reading books with her.
I had fun taking some pictures with my new camera.
We just loved her little dog Bojo!
We played with him and pet him and tried to get him to do what we asked.

December 30, 2015
In the morning, we headed down to the basement to check out Great Grandma's fun sewing machine.  We helped her make an embroidered Minnie Mouse!  We were pretty amazed at what the machine was able to do!
We had a wonderful visit with Great Grandma.  We felt so loved and welcome during our little visit.  It was great to get to catch up with her.
I thought Bojo's bed was the perfect place for me to sit down and read a book to Reese.  After all, Bojo didn't sleep in it very much.
I think Reese really liked her book.

Today we are headed back to the airport to try and fly home again.  Here is hoping that is goes better this time.  Before we headed out Mom wanted to get some pictures with us and Great Grandma.
Bojo thought that he should be in the photo with us.

We really did just love this little dog and he tolerated us really well.
Thanks Great Grandma for taking us in and taking such good care of us!  We had a wonderful time!  We love you!
Back at the Denver airport we are ready to try this again.  We had fun playing around while we waited for our flight to leave.  They delayed our flight this time again, but it was only delayed about 15 minutes and we were able to get on it and get back to Reno!
These little seats were so fun to sit on and climb on.
We finally made it back into Redding one minute into 2016!  We were sure glad to climb into our own beds and sleep the rest of the night or as McKenzie said as she climbed into her bed, "My fuzzy cupcake sheets how I have missed you!"

Sledding take 2!

December 27, 2015
We had so much fun sledding yesterday that when asked what we wanted to do today we said "sledding!".  The only problem was that is was a little colder today then yesterday!  It ended up being around zero degrees which was about 12 degrees colder than yesterday.  Lucky thing we had are warm Frozen fleece scarfs and hats that mom made us.  They sure did come in handy!
Today we wanted to bring out the inter tube and try it out down the sledding hill.  Here is our first and only run down with the inter tube.  It was a fun ride while it lasted.
On the way down the tube popped on us and went flat.  I was bummed, but glad that we had the other sleds with us!
Alright Grandpa here we go!
Yep!  Still a blast even in the cold weather!
Okay Daddy make me go fast!
Whoa!  Look at how far I went!
It is tough getting older and you have to walk your sled back up the hill!  It was a good way to stay warm.
It was a beautiful blue sky day.  Not a cloud to be seen!
I had fun trying out all the different runs!
Yes!  I made it!
I guess I am getting older too and think I should pull up my own sled.
Mom was trying to get a picture of me catching some air off of one of the bumps.
I wanted to go down with mom!
Here is a video of Grandpa and I sledding down together.
I had Grandma and Grandpa walk me up the hill.
Daddy got a picture of Mom and I after our run down together.
Nothing like ending up in the deeper snow!
Dad and I took a little break up at the top!
I thought I would do a little sledding on my bottom!
Here are some pictures of one of my runs that went a little bit more wild.

Straight into the side of the sledding hill.  At least I wont have to walk very far up the hill!
Nothing like laying in the cold snow!
I had fun playing around and keeping myself quite entertained.
Look at us go!
We had a fun run down together!
The joys of being the youngest!  A sweet ride up the hill.  Can't beat that when you get a ride up and down the sledding hill.
All right I am ready Dad!  Send me down.
Thanks for the good push down Dad.  It was sure another fun day of sledding.  We had a blast in probably the coldest day we will every go sledding in our life.
Nothing like a little hot chocolate to warm you up after being out in the cold.  Yummy!
Now those are some rosy cheeks!
I sure enjoyed my hot apple cider that warmed me up.
A cute picture of me with my wrist warmers and hat that Aunt Aubrey knit me!  What fun colors they are!
I just wanted my picture taken.
Some stories with Grandma.  It was sure a fun day.
